The date of the change to two services was September 14: the first service begins at 9:15 and the second at 11:15. An hour long coffee hour falls between the two services. Most religious education classes meet at 9:15 and 11:15; RE families may register their children for either session. The Nursery is available during both services.

All ages are welcome; a nursery is available for toddlers. Join in for fellowship & coffee hour between services.
Growing Our Spirit: Association Sunday
The long and illustrious history of Unitarians and Universalists in this country is embodied and carried forward by the Unitarian Universalist Association. Sugarloaf is a member of the UUA, contributes to it, and receives a multitude of services and constant support from it. Today we will learn about, honor, and make a special contribution to the association that joins us with so many others in the cause of free religion.
The Right of Conscience and the Democratic Process
Part of a series on the Principles and Purposes of Unitarian Universalism
With an important election fast approaching, it is appropriate for us to examine this fifth of the seven UU Principles and Purposes. We support both the right of conscience and the democratic process. But what do we do when they come in conflict with one another? When the democratic process yields a result that conflicts with our conscience, do we disobey the law, like Thoreau, or comply with the wishes of the majority, like Emerson? What would happen to society if everyone disobeyed laws they didn’t like? What would we be like to not follow our own conscience?
Day of the Dead
An Intergenerational Service, for all ages
In this service, a tradition at Sugarloaf Congregation, we remember our ancestors, as do so many religious traditions this time of year. The dying of the summer’s growth leads us to honor what has passed. We take inspiration from Latin American traditions today, respecting those cultures whether or not we call them our own.

The SCUU newsletter is available online as a full color PDF each month. To be notified when it's posted, join the announcements list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scuu_announcements/, or email JP Vidas and he will sign you up. Printing, folding and mailing the newsletter is a drain on SCUU's budget, so we hope all will take advantage of the new online version. Contact Kathleen Bell to receive a paper version.
