More Info about Children's Religious Education

Our SCUU Religious Education staff is devoted to guiding our children in a search for Truth and meaning. We seek to accomplish this goal through the use of an educational program which is both spiritually as well as intellectually stimulating.

Over the past few years we have explored such topics as: Unitarian Universalism, Comparative Religions, Native American Spirituality, Conflict Resolution, Self-esteem, Holidays and Holy Days, Peace and Community Building, and Creation Myths.

We seek to create a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our children by staffing all classrooms with two adults (one teacher and one assistant). Our staff members are trained volunteers. These volunteers are committed to nurturing and fostering our children's natural inclination toward curiosity, and wonder.

We encourage our children to explore questions, and evaluate spiritual topics through reading, writing, arts and crafts, music, games, discussions and storytelling.

If you are looking for a spiritual home for your children, consider Sugarloaf Congregation of Unitarian Universalists, where we seek to maximize the celebration of life, its transcendental mystery and the exploration of how we are interconnected with all.
