At WOW I we discuss....

The background of UU...
Who we are...
What should a member try to do....

show up;
take care of ourselves and others;
help out;
have fun;
be kind;
make a pledge to help out financially as each is able ....
and Vote!!!

One possible path to membership....
1) visit ... 2) WOW I ... 3) WOW II ....
4) attend the new member ceremony (sign book and make a pledge)...5) join a circle

Another possible path to membership....
1) visit ... 2) WOW I ... 3) WOW II ...
4) join a circle .. 5) attend the new member ceremony (sign book and make a pledge)...

Yet another possible path to membership....
1) visit ... 2) WOW I ... 3) WOW II ...

And for something completely different ...
1) visit ... 2) go to a Spirituality group meeting ...
3) join a Circle ... 4) join the Choir .. 5) Say something at Joys and Concerns ...

We let everyone speak of their spiritual journey and of why they came to SCUU....

Then we have a Potluck dinner attended by many members of the Congregation Welcoming everyone!!

WOW TOO

At the second Wow dinner people who have visited a few times and attended the first WOW are invited... WOW II is a continuation of the meaningful discussion that took place during WOW I.. WOW II reinforces and affirms why people came to SCUU....

What do you want to do on your spiritual journey? What is each of our dreams?
When we leave the Wow II everyone has the knowledge that the next step is the membership ceremony if they wish to take it...

We will form new circle groups at the Wow II as a commitment to becoming engaged to our congregation.

Rev Amy will meet with each person individually after the Wow II dinner...
After signing the membership book, New member may take part in our new member ceremony.

Note for everyone:

For the First WOW I... SCUU members bring a dish... The WOW I attendees who are mostly not members yet do not bring a dish they are guests..... The whole congregation is encouraged to come....

For the Second WOW dinner Everyone who wants to can bring a dish including anyone who has been to a WOW I dinner......

The Second WOW dinner is more like a Circle dinner for the new visitors; however everyone can show up for that dinner too, particularly those members who are not part of a Circle Group....

WOW ONE dinners will usually be larger in number than WOW TOO dinners but you never know....

And as always when in doubt bring chocolate...

WHEN?

WELCOMING ORIENTATION AND WELCOMING because we can't be welcoming enough....

WOW's are on the second Saturday of each Month....
WOW ONES start at 5:30 pm for Orientation and the Welcoming Potluck starts at 6:30 pm...
WOW TOOS start at 6:30 pm...

WOW ONEs are on odd numbered months and WOW TOOs are on even numbered months.

New Member Cernemonies will be on the Sunday following a WOW TOO....
